12U and 14U play tough on first weekend in June

While there was no story book ending for either squad this weekend, there were plenty of plays and efforts that showed well the courage and tenacity of our 12U and 14U girls.

The 12U kicked things off early on Saturday, dropping game 1 to the regional powerhouse Oregon Titans.  Game 2 was a close affair, where the Avalanche held the lead until the final half inning, when the Lake Oswego renegades scored to take the game.  The Avalanche did come back and hand the Fireballs a defeat whit a walk of single by Harley Sutterfield in the last 1/2 inning of the game.

The 14U fought tough as well, dropping the first game to the CV Impact, but defeating the eventual tournament champions the Siskiyou Jaxx in a 6 to 3 victory.  The 14’s dropped their next 2 games, both by very close margins.

We remain proud and supportive of these great girls who played with heart and skill.  Go Avalanche!
