It was an eventful weekend for the Avalanche organization. The 12U team played in a local event, facing the Redmond Sunwest Team and the Oregon Blaze in Redmond on Saturday and Sunday. The result was two wins and a loss for the Avalanche squad’s first tournament of the year.
The 14U team played in the Red Robin Turf Wars in Medford this weekend. After taking a loss in their first game against the Grants Pass Fastpitch squad, the Avalanche came roaring back to win games two and three against the NW Toros and Salem Keizer Stars – St. Clair, respectively, qualifying them for Gold Bracket play in their first tournament this season. The Avalanche fell to the Salem Keizer Stars – Laukken team on Sunday in 6 innings in a competitive and close game.
