The Avalanche 12U opened their season with one win and one loss at the Junction City Sunday Game Series. The Avalanche opened with a 9-7 decision awarded to the DC Blaze Blue squad. The DC Blaze put up most of their runs in the first and second innings while the Avalanche charged from behind to try and even the score, but fell short as they reached the time limit for the game.
The second game against the DC Blaze White had a different vibe all together. The Avalanche came on strong behind pitcher Gracie G who threw 13 strikeouts in 4 innings of play (1 SO reached on a dropped 3rd strike). Krysta H. showed up big for the team in the game stepping in as a first time catcher. Mackenzie G. would lead RBIs with 2 and Isabella L., Mackenzie T. , and Gracie G. each contributed an RBI.
It was great fun to watch and a exciting to see the prospects for the emerging season. Go Avalanche!
