The Avalanche 10U and 12U teams both came home with wins from the July 7th and 8th ‘Just for Fun’ tournament in Newberg last weekend. Although the 10U dropped their pool games on Saturday, they came back fighting on Sunday with a extremely close loss to the Pink Dream and a follow on win against the Grizzlies to end on a high note.
The 12U squad came on strong against quality opponents, beating both the Showtime Navy squad from Vancouver, WA and the Tigard Crush Orange. Sunday would pit the girls against the Tigard Crush White that resulted in 9 inning, double international tie breaker game and a heart breaker of a loss. The 12U would go on to win their final game against the Oregon Thunder to close out the tournament.
