12U rally Sunday for win in Newberg

Avalanche 12U faced tough competition at the NAFA NW Sock Monkey Tourney in Newberg, Oregon May 6th and 7th.  Squaring off against the premier team from the Sherwood Fireballs and revisiting the NW Shock landed the 12U win-less on Saturday.  Down but not out, The Avalanche woke up Saturday morning to battle against the Scappoose Dynamite.  Although they took the loss in the game, the Avalanche still put 7 runs across the dish.

For the final game of the day, the Avalanche would shake the (sock) monkey off their back and opened up a 10-0 lead by the top of the third inning and closed the game down with a W.  As always, we’re proud of these girls and the hard work they and their coaches put in to the game.  Go Avalanche!
